Last year we decommissioned 12 Enercon E70s of Pure Energy in the Netherlands. Most of them are running at new destinations like Finland, Lithuania, Scotland and one E70 is used for spares in France.
With some delay due to the construction permit we installed this week one of these 12 Enercon’s in Scotland at Simon Howie’s construction site.
Together with Vlastuin Transport and Global Crane Service, the project has been prepared very detailed because of the narrow access roads through Dunning. The roads, corners and parking restrictions were prepared by Amy McFarlane, G&A Field Contracting Ltd. Parking restrictions were everywhere in the village to enable Vlastuin Transport and Global Crane Service to move through the narrow roads to the construction site.
The weather was very cooperative during the first lifting day, nice Scottish summer conditions with lots of sunshine. Yesterday, Thursday August 1st, the complete tower, nacelle and generator were installed. Today, Friday 2nd, the rotor will be assembled and the weather forecast is not so positive for a rotor lift, but tomorrow is looking promising.
Once this wind turbine is installed with a DEIF control system, Full Circle will monitor and maintain this wind turbine for the coming years.
