In Sweden during the last few weeks, a Sinovel 3MW wind turbine is taken of the tower and replaced by a Vestas V112. This week in the same windfarm a Führländer 2.5MW wind turbine is also taken down including a tower section and a new designed tower section installed. This weekend we expect to have it completed with the next Vestas V112.
The guiding ropes to guide equipment like a rotor have to be at a certain angle to be able to pull when the wind tries to change the position of the equipment hanging in the air. When you are working an a forest area like here in Sweden, that is a challenge when you have to stand in the forest with a rope going up 115m between the trees.
The Vestas V112 wind turbines were decommissioned in Germany and were in good condition. A light refurbishment was done. Control systems will be replaced by DEIF control to start a second life for these wind turbines.
After this second V112 is installed, the crane supplied by Jinert will move to another site in Sweden to decommission the next Führländer and also replace it with a Vestas V112.
This soft repowering means tower and foundation remain and a reliable wind turbine is installed to continue operation on the site. With a Vestas V112 you have a reliable wind turbine and good to maintain with sufficient availability of spare parts and knowledge how to maintain.
