Last year we installed a Vestas V90 on a Führländer tower in Sweden. This week on another Swedish location, we dismantled the next Führländer rotor and nacelle and also took several tower sections off.

This is done as a part of SEB Nordic Energy’s portfolio company Locus Energy’s ‘soft’ repowering where existing wind turbines are upgraded by exchanging poor performing wind turbines with refurbished ones while leaving the foundations and towers in place. This reduces the capital costs and improves the performance of the existing wind turbine positions.

Nothing is easy; sometimes you have some unexpected challenges and some wind when you want to install the rotor. Thursday evening the windspeed went down and the rotor went up. At 22.00 the Business in Wind team received a picture from site where we all could see the rotor was installed, which was a relief.

In the coming weeks for the first time all the E-modules will be completed, DEIF control system completed and start to have this E82 operational.
