In Bruges, Belgium, seven Enercon E-66 turbines have been owned and operated by Elicio since 2004. This wind farm will be repowered with four new, larger turbines. In recent weeks, Business in Wind dismantled three of the turbines. The remaining four will stay in operation until early next year, when they will make way for the new turbines.

The dismantling of the three Enercon turbines had to be carried out with great precision, as they were tightly wedged between industrial parks, railway tracks, and public roads.

To ensure safe, cost-effective, and responsible recycling, we are processing the components near the dismantling site. Some of the parts will be reused. Other parts, such as a yaw bearing and a blade set, have already been sold for reuse. Additional Enercon parts will be made available for the repair and maintenance of existing wind turbines.
