Amid the tulip fields, hard work has been underway in recent weeks to dismantle the 16 wind turbines of the Anna Mariapolder Wind Farm (AMP), built in 2008–2009. These Eneco turbines are making way for the ZE-BRA Wind Farm, a future-proof, larger wind farm with greater output and efficiency. 

The 16 wind turbines being decommissioned now will partly be refurbished and used for a second life somewhere in Europe, some will be taken apart and parts re-used as spare parts. Other components which not can be used anymore will be recycled or re-purposed. For example several blades will be used as a floating construction for a bridge in a footpath.
